Science
In Keystages 2 & 3 Science is taught as an integrated programme. At A-level, students decide whether to continue with science and select the strand(s) they need.
We monitor each Examination Board web site to ensure that we are working within the current specifications and make use of the up-to-date texts.
GCSE
Revised in 2006, in GCSE there are now several pathways leading to either one, two or three GCSE equivalents. Most pathways are taught as three separate strands: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. However, all students must take GCSE Science and no matter which pathway, all study the three strands. All courses consist of a set of modules, examined over Years 10 and 11.
We are able to support all courses from all Examination Boards.
A-level
All A-level sciences are subject specific: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Each consists of six modules.
In 2008 there will be new specifications for all three sciences, but the detail will not be available until September/October 2007. We will continue to monitor progress on these.
We provide support for Chemistry and Physics from all Examination Boards, although we cannot help with the practical work in either subject.
Keystage 3
We are able to support all three strands to Keystage 3.
